Chicago’s record of shooting homicides continues at a brisk pace in 2017. To date at least 1,150 residents have been shot and 200 died by gunfire.
This after last year’s murder rate that was the highest number in 19 years.The Windy City under Democratic Mayor Rahm Emanuel has failed to guarantee the safety of its own citizens or protect their rights. So inept is the Emanuel administration that the Justice Department department in January reported a pattern of civil rights violations by the city’s police department.
Just yesterday a fellow Democrat, U.S. Senator Dick Durban of Illinois, asked Republican President Trump’s Justice Department for help.
And now Mayor Emanuel is opening the sanctuary city’s doors to welcome new immigrants.
Why would anyone want to risk their lives by coming to Chicago when the administration is so incompetent?
